Chelsea Quarter Cafe, 28th January 2012.

We went to:
Chelsea Quarter Cafe, Kings Road. SW3.

Location:
After a productive but mildly dangerous (financially and digitally) 40 minutes in the Mercedes Showroom on Cheyne Walk Belle and Arthur and Holly needed a cafe. So did Mummy. You know the way there never seems to be ANYWHERE to eat or drink on the Kings Road? (aside from Bluebird, you know what I mean..) Chelsea Quarter sorts that out. It's opposite William Yeoward (thats girlcode for it's location - apparently only women understand location instructions related to the names of shops...).

Decor:
Skandium does cake. All grey soothing walls and nice white lights and surfaces. Perfectly weathered oak. Nice piped cushions to show that we are in Chelsea not Clerkenwell. Huge bright windows and piles of fresh baking everywhere. Belle and Arthur and Holly thought it was nice and bright.

Food:
Limited menu of the classic brunch dishes, and the huge piles of fresh baking. Some of the huge piles of fresh baking turned out to be free samples. This was very popular. We munched and sucked on pain au chocolat hot chocolates, a chocolate muffin and a fruit salad with yogurt, (OMG the fruit salad was SEVEN QUID), and one of the best strong cappuccinos I have ever drunk. And a coke for Holly. Arthur put his muffin in the hot chocolate. Then he ate the fruit salad in one go so we had to order another (SEVEN quid). I got to have some of this one and it was probably worth at least seven quid.

Staff: ... were beautifully turned out and nice to the kids.

Ambience: Like the decor. Bright, cool, pleasing.

Clientele: A mixture of middle aged Chelsea and smug thirtysomething Joseph attired Chelsea. Only one other (quite well behaved) child.

£. Stephen and Louise arrived to pick up Holly and picked up the bill as well so I have no idea. Probably £££!

Rating: 9/10
